Do you get asked STUPID QUESTIONS?

I admit it, stupid questions drive me crazy!

I was on the phone the other evening, with a telemarketer (they called me) and at one point the person asked for my telephone number! Hold on a second, didn't you just call me?

As many of you know, I am in the final stages of my latest book "Common Sense is NOT Common Practice" and I decided that the stupid question debate would be a good opening. It would explain the premise of the book, as well as provide some entertainment to the opening.

This is where I need your help.

Please submit your stupid questions. I prefer if they are business related, but I will take them all. The shorter the better (I mean without need for explanation if possible), but your stories are great too for the chuckle factor.

Share them here, and who knows, perhaps your stupid question will show up in my latest book!

I sit in a fairly open office enviornment and the one stupid question that I get asked on a weekly basis is....

Is the boss in? So I look up from my computer, look around the person that is asking me, look in my boss' office and say ... he is sitting at his desk. I understand they are trying to be formal but a more approriate question would be, is the boss tied up or can I interupt him.

I had a woman stop by the other day proactively seeking employment. She had gone to the trouble to prepare her resume and present it to me in a folder but opened her conversation with "Just what is it that you do?" -- I would have thought she would have done some legwork given she was approaching us for a position.

I work in a office where literally everyone in the office relies on the administrative assistant for direction or a pulse. We have mandatory Monday staff meetings. Although our department understands that the meetings are mandatory they still have the nerve to ask me every monday if there is a meeting! Arghhhh!

So this is not necessarily work related, but as far as stupid questions go, this tops my list. While ordering at a fast food DRIVE-THRU, we were asked "is that for here or to go?"
